Silkytie Hybrid Dogs

Remember the days when a silky tie was a long narrow piece of silk worn for decorative purposes around the neck beneath the shirt collar and knotted at the throat?

Not any more apparently. Today, if you were seen out and about wearing one of these Silkyties, in addition to feeling rather foolish and particularly uncomfortable, you’d probably be arrested for cruelty to animals or something.

Why? Because this particular  Silkytie  is a modern Hybrid Dog, a cross between a Shetland Sheepdog and an Australian Silky Terrier.

Now quite why someone would want to diddle with the DNA of two perfectly affable dogs is a little beyond me. That having been said, I’m always open to learning new things. So if someone knows something I don’t, please feel free to enlighten me and I’ll happily add it to this post.

By the way, if you have a  Silkytie  and would like it featured on Dogipedia, please send us a photograph using the form on the right.
