Rajapalayam Dog Breeds

Also known as the Poligar Hound, the  Rajapalayam  is a large Indian Sighthound characterised by its pure white coat, its pink nose and its golden eyes. It was once the dog of choice for royalty and the nobility in Southern India.

Used to hunt wild boar and hare, true  Rajapalayam  are tall and muscular. As with a number of native Indian dog breeds, it is considered by some that the impressive and traditional  Rajapalayam  is more or less extinct, with little more than a handful of pure bred dogs remaining.
